and insecticides.
Fragrances
Sensient has a 75-year history developing distinctive fragrances for the
household and personal care industries. Sensient's Fragrance division,
based in Granada, Spain, processes aromatic chemicals and essential
oils--the building blocks for fragrance compounds--for use in cosmetics,
hair and personal care products, and various household products.
From formula development to new product concept, the R&D department in
Granada uses the latest instrumental technology and evaluation methods
to assist customers in creating market-focused, quality fragrances. Our
highly-trained team of perfumers makes creativity a fundamental part of
their work. By keeping track of global trends, fashions and tastes, they
remain at the forefront of new product design and formula development.
Essential Oils
Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in
aromatherapy and personal care. The process for distilling essential
oils has only changed in the last century with the advent of carbon
dioxide distillation (CO2). In addition to traditional methods of
cold-press, citrus and steam-distilling essential oils, Sensient uses
state-of-the-art CO2 distillation techniques to develop essential oils
of maximum quality and reliability. We offer more than 200 natural
essential oils in addition to custom blends and seasonal specialties.
Aroma Chemicals
In addition to natural essential oils we provide
customers with aroma chemicals such as Eugenol, Eucalyptol, Menthol,
Anethol and Vanillin. We also offer Alpha and Beta Pinen, as well as
Heliptropin and Sassafrasoil for some fragrance composition. However, a
license is needed to purchase the latter two chemicals.
We offer creative, complete solutions to customers' fragrance needs. Our
research specialists constantly explore ways to synthesize new aromatic
applications and develop new process technologies to address our
customers' changing market needs.
